NJ-FL Assisted Living Facilities
Assisted living
facilities are for senior citizens needing assistance with activities of
daily living (ADLs) but seeking to live as independently as possible for
as long as possible. Assisted living exists to bridge the gap between
independent living and nursing homes in NJ and FL.
Assisted living facilities offer help with
ADL tasks such as eating, bathing, dressing, laundry, housekeeping, and
assistance with medications. Many such ALFs also have centers for
medical care; however, the care offered may not be as intensive or
available to residents as the care offered at nursing homes.
The assisted living is generally not an
alternative to a nursing home residence, but is an intermediate level of
long-term care appropriate for many seniors in New Jersey or Florida. It
creates a service plan for each resident upon admission. The ALF service
plan details the personalized services required by the resident and
guaranteed by the facility.
An assisted living facility may also be
known as:
-
Retirement residential home
-
Adult congregate living or foster care
-
Community based adult supportive care
